Hello and welcome to this shared blog post with my fellow IndigoBlu teamies.
My project to day is bit of an experiment that was inspired by a show from The Makerss on Hochanda a little while ago where they used the Flutterby stamp and dry felting.
The fabulous new floral stamps from IndigoBlu was my starting point, I used Peony. I had a piece of cotton fabric from a natural dye course and added a little wash of Snowflake to give a little shimmer.
The peony and leaves was stamped in permanent ink and the flower was felted completely.
On water soluble paper the peony was stamped with StazOn and roughly cut out and placed over the felted flowers. Strands of a darker wool was felted though the paper to outline the flower.
I did paint the leaves but decided that they would look better felted, so they were covered with a light green wool was felted first then defined with a darker shade.
A strand of black wood was felted to make a frame and beads sewn to embellish.
The whole piece was then gently washed to remove the paper. I didn’t want rub too hard and a little bit of the paper has remained but I like the look.
When dry it was attached with Fabric Slap-It-On to a 15cm2 card blank.
I hope you have enjoyed my post and do check out everyone else from the links on the IndigoBlu blog post.
Take care, Kay xx
