Hello and welcome to my blog as part of this month’s shared IndigoBlu Blog.
I’m so excited and delighted to be introducing Grafix Arts to Hochanda today! (If you missed it you can find it on Rewind) I’ve made a simple 15cm2 (6×6) card with the flutterfly as the main element with the wonderful Dura-Lar Matte Film- love, love this material!!
The butterfly was made by stamping the Dinkie Flutterby with FlitterGlu onto a piece of Dura-Lar Matte and then applying Chocolate Box MegaFlake. Townhouse Teal paint was painted on the back. When dry the butterfly was fussy cut- even the antennae! Not been able to this so well with card, paper or acetate before but Dura-Lar is so strong but easy to cut with scissors- fabulous! The sentiment from Victoria Garden was produced in the same way, trimmed and matted with brown card.
For the background I masked a 2.5cm wide panel 2cm from the top of a 14cm2 of kraft card, and stamped Collection’s Edition stamp No. 3 Cross Hatching with Townhouse Teal paint and the No. 2 French Script with Pheasant Bronze metallic paint into it. The same paints were also used to add splatters onto the card after the masks were removed. The edges of the kraft card had FlitterGlu and then Chocolate Box Megaflake applied.
The card was finished by attaching buttons to the butterfly body with copper craft wire and threaded through the kraft card to secure, this was then matted onto 14.5cm2 brown card and then onto a card blank. The sentiment was then adhered.
Do check out the other fabulous projects from my teamies from IndigoBlu Blog.
Take care, Kay xx
